50+ Free Resources for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship among women is on the rise. Even though female-led businesses make up only 30% of businesses around the world, women are founding companies at an historic rate.

If you are a woman who is trying to launch a business, chances are you are funding it yourself until it starts to turn a profit. So I have compiled a list of some of my favorite free resources for you, in no particular order.

Email Marketing:

Mailchimp - Free email marketing platform.

Images and Design:

pdf to jpg  - pdf to jpg converter. (Turn pdf's into jpg's to post them on social media.)

Pixlr - Photo editor. (Similar to Photoshop, but free.)

Canva - Design software. (I use this often!)

remove.bg Remove image background. (For those "professional headshots" you took with the toilet paper in the background.)

TinyPNG - Compresses png or jpg images (Shrink those file sizes so your images load faster on your website.)

Meme Generator - Self explanatory. (You know you want to make one.)

Placeit - Product mockups and templates.

Freebbble - Design freebies.

Pexels - Royalty free stock images.

All the Google Tools:

Google - the world's best free research assistant.

Analytics

Keyword Planner

Webmaster Tools

Trends

GQueues - Collaborative online task manager for your google accounts.

Then of course there's all of the tools within your Gmail account. Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Chat, etc. If you are using Gmail and haven't learned about these free tools, take the time to learn more about them. (YouTube is a great resource for this.)  Also, G Suite is not free, but the cost is minimal and it's well worth it for those with websites. You can email from your domain name vs a gmail.com account. It looks more professional.

Website:

Broken Link Finder  - Find broken links on your website.

Browse SEO - A web app that highlights parts of a web page that are relevant for SEO.

Copyscape - Plagiarism checker.

Hellobar - Use on your website to grow your email list.

Dreamgrow Scroll Triggered Box - WordPress plugin for a popup box that encourages email subscriptions.

Scroll Box - Scroll box to help grow your email list. (Similar concept to Hellobar and Dreamgrow Scroll Triggered Box.)

Bit.ly - Shorten URLs and track your individual link analytics.

Adobe Color -  Create color schemes and find their CMYK and HEX codes.

Fonts:

Google Fonts

Font Squirrel

Type Genius - Find the perfect font combo.

Of course no list would be complete without all the free social media tools, including: Facebook business pages, Instagram business accounts, Pinterest, YouTube, Linkedin, Snapchat, and Twitter.

Social Media Tools:

Buffer - Social media scheduler.

Hootsuite - Another social media scheduler.

Plann - Instagram post scheduler.

Later - Another Instagram post scheduler.

RiteTag- Hashtag analyzer to help make the most of hashtag use.

Productivity Tools for Individuals or Teams:

Trello - Project management software.

Asana - Project management software for teams.

Evernote - Project management tool.

Zapier - Connect your apps and automate workflow.

Calendly - Scheduling tool.

TimeTree - Multiple schedules on one calendar.

Acuity Scheduling - Online appointment scheduler.

Slack - App used for team communication.

Band - App used for group communication.

Wrike - Cloud based project management software.

Podcasts - Podcasts can be a great source of information for entrepreneurs. For marketing, I like Amy Porterfield, Jenna Kutcher, and for legal stuff and entrepreneurship I like to listen to Bobby Klinck. If you are thinking about starting a podcast, Shannon Hernandez has a podcast for podcasters.

Your Public Library - Most libraries will have those business books you want to read, and some have audio and digital books too. Save hundreds of dollars by checking out the books vs buying them all. Check our your nearest public library.

Scanners:

Scannable - Image scanner app.

CamScanner - Mobile scanner.

More Tools:

Dropbox - Cloud storage for file sharing.

Zoom - Video calling.

Anchor - Create a podcast from you phone.

Pandora - Listen to music while you work.

Amazon Affiliate - Generate affiliate income from products on Amazon.

InShot - Video editor app for Android and Apple.

And last but not least, my favorite app is Coffitivity! For when you want the hum of the coffee shop but you can't be bothered with the drive, the crowds, and you make better coffee at home.
